Excess upper eyelid skin can feel heavy, make your eyes look tired, affect your vision and it can be difficult to wear eye make-up. Upper blepharoplasty surgery for hooded eyelids is also called an ‘eyelid lift’, ‘eyelid reduction’ or ‘eyelid skin removal’. The procedure removes the excess, hooded upper eyelid skin to give a more alert and youthful appearance. Upper eyelid surgery takes around 1 hour, it can be done under local or general anaesthetic and you will be able to go home the same day. The vast majority of patients opt to have local anaesthetic and stay awake during their procedure.
Lower eyelid bags are a common problem with ageing. As you age, tissues such as muscle and fascia that normally support the eyelids weaken. Fat that normally sits around the eye, loses the support of these structures and bulges out to form lower eyelid bags. Lower blepharoplasty surgery takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, is usually done under general anaesthetic and you will be able to go home the same day.
The surgery will be performed by our multi award-winning, female plastic surgeon, Miss Sujatha Tadiparthi. She can see you for a consultation either online or face-to-face at one of our clinic locations in Central or South London. Your surgery will be undertaken at high quality, safe, well-established clinics and hospitals that are CQC registered.
